We can work with you to offer the experience and hours needed to fit for your individual program requirements.
Internship Opportunities beginning Summer 2017
The Center for Active Living is a multi-purpose center dedicated to offering a variety of social, educational and wellness programs for older adults in Athens and the surrounding area. Interns will gain experience with program development and implementation, needs assessment, and advocacy.
The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program provides support to relative caregiver headed families in six Northeast Georgia counties through services and resources to improve the physical and emotional well-being of intergenerational families. Interns will gain experience in case management, client advocacy, and program development.
The Meals on Wheels program helps foster independent living and prevents premature or unnecessary institutionalization of disabled and older adults. Interns will gain experience in needs assessment, compliance monitoring, and volunteer management.
The ACCA Finance Department manages an operating budget of $3.8 million, with funding provided by federal, state, and local governments, Medicaid, fundraising, and earned revenue. Interns will gain expereience with budget development, and financial reporting and analysis.
The Senior Community Service Employment Program offers valuable job training and education to qualified adults age 55+ with certain barriers to employment. Interns will gain experience in case management, older adult education, and community outreach.
Senior Corps provides adults age 55 and up opportunities for national service through the Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, and Helping Hands RSVP programs. Interns will gain expereience in program evaluation, health education programming, and volunteer management.
