AllWe offer opportunities for students from all walks of life and academic backgrounds. We can work with you to offer the experience and hours needed to fit your individual program requirements.


Immediate Openings:

Medical Residency Coordination Internship

ACCA has partnered with the Augusta University/UGA Medical Partnership and St. Mary’s Medical Center as a host site for third year Residents to complete their Internal Medicine Geriatrics rotation. Residents provide on-site wellness screenings, visit client’s homes, shadow programs, and attend support groups. This internship will provide the student with practical knowledge and experience supporting a partnership between a community based organization and healthcare providers. The student will work with the CEO and Director of Operations on the day to day operations of the partnership. The intern will assist with promoting screenings, scheduling appointments, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.

Spring 2018 Internship Opportunities: 

 

Center for Active Living Internship

The Center for Active Living is a multi-purpose center dedicated to offering a variety of social, educational and wellness programs for older adults in Athens and the surrounding area. Interns will gain experience with program development and implementation, advocacy, and marketing a wellness program.

 

Non-Profit Administration Internship

ACCA currently operates fourteen programs across twenty-seven counties, serving over 12,000 older adults and individuals with disabilities. These programs are supported through a variety of funding sources which require compliance to a number of standards and regulations. Interns will gain experience with program evaluation, program compliance, and non-profit operations.

 

Senior Hunger Internship

ACCA has been a leading partner in the Athens Senior Hunger Coalition since its inception in 2010. The members of the coalition share the goal of combating senior hunger in the Athens area through innovative programs and partnerships. Interns will gain experience with developing and leading nutrition education sessions, program sustainability planning, and program operations.
