This internship will provide the student with practical knowledge and relevant work experience that supplement her/his coursework. The Finance Intern works directly with the Chief Financial Officer and will be assigned projects related to nonprofit financial management, bookkeeping and accounting systems. The Center for Active Living (CAL) is a multi-purpose center dedicated to offering a variety of social, educational and wellness programs for older adults in Athens and the surrounding area. The extensive CAL Plus Program includes CAL programming, and offers a door to door transportation program for those unable to drive, morning activities, a noon lunch, and case management, if needed.
The Center for Active Living Internship gives students practical knowledge supporting their coursework, and provides experience working directly with the clients of ACCA. CAL interns will gain experience in community and individual needs assessment, wellness program development, and program evaluation. The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) program provides support to relative caregiver headed families in six Northeast Georgia counties through services and resources to improve the physical and emotional well-being of intergenerational families.
The objective of the GRG internship is to provide the student with practical knowledge that supplements his/her coursework and provides experience working with the diverse population served by ACCA. The student will gain a greater knowledge of assessing community needs, developing wellness programs, and evaluation program effectiveness.
