Athens Clarke County Senior Center
Athens-Clarke County Senior Center provides noonday meals, wellness programming, education and recreation in the center, as well as outreach and visitation to homebound older adults.
The Athens-Clarke County Senior Center at the Athens Community Council on Aging is a multi-purpose center dedicated to offering a variety of opportunities for older adults of the Athens area to participate actively in unique social, cultural, educational, and health-related services and programs.
General Information
A variety of activities, classes, programs, and services are provided to older adults by the Senior Center on an ongoing basis. These include but are not limited to the following:

Transportation to and from the Senior Center is available on a limited basis. A waiting list is maintained when space is not available.
General Guidelines for Senior Center Participation
•Participants must be at least 55 or 60 years of age (depending on the program in which you wish to participate).
•Participants of Congregate Meals, Outreach, Friendly Visiting, Health Related Services, or Transportation must be 60 years of age and a resident of Clarke County. All other programs or services are open to all area residents.
•Participants must be able to ambulate independently, either with or without an assistive device or caregiver.
•Participants must be continent of bowel and bladder or be able to manage incontinence independently.
•Participants must follow all other rules and procedures listed in the Guidelines for Participation as well as the Senior Center Handbook.
The Athens-Clarke County Senior Center continues to develop partnerships within the community in order to create new opportunities as well as enhancing existing ones, so that the older adults of this community are better served with a variety of options for a fun and healthy life.
