Senior Leadership Academy, hosted by The Helping Hands RSVP at the Athens Community Council on Aging, is a community awareness program designed to develop informed, motivated, and committed retired and semi-retired persons in the greater Athens area. The annual academy provides an opportunity to build relationships with fellow participants as you explore current local issues, meet community leaders, and discover opportunities to contribute leadership skills and expertise to the well-being of Northeast Georgia.
This year’s theme is: “So, You Think You Know Athens?”. Participants will complete 8 weekly session, beginning Thursday, February 4th, that will explore the culture, resources, government, and uniqueness of the Athens area. Whether you’re new to Athens, or have lived here for years, this program will showcase what makes our town a great place to live, learn, and grow!
Past participants had this to say about the program:
“I made some wonderful new friends!”
“Our guides and destinations today were terrific! These days of leadership academy have gotten better and better!”
“Fantastic, great program”
The cost of the program is $125 per person. This includes a catered lunch at each session, supplies and most transportation for the program. The deadline to register is January 22, 2016, but a $25 Early Bird discount will be given for registrations completed and paid by December 15, 2015.
