Be a Santa to a Senior!

Gift tags in the shape of an ornament are distributed to several businesses throughout the community who have joined forces with this event. Anyone is welcome to take an ornament that has the senior’s list of items and fulfill their wishes! It’s like playing Santa for someone you don’t know! If you’re not able to visit a local business, please check out our virtual opportunity. Ornaments are now available online at the link below.

How to help:

Fulfill a Wishlist

1. Browse the seniors below and see the associated items they are hoping for.

Select an ornament from the tree or wreath at the following organizations or click here to select an ornament virtually!

This year’s ornaments can be found at the Athens Community Council on Aging, St. Mary’s Home Health, Phil Hughes Subaru, YMCA, UGA Dean & Directors Office, First American Bank and Trust, Bella Salon, Village Drug Shop, Hawthorne Drug, Walmart Epps Bridge, Uniforms Unlimited, Fleet Feet, Athens Clarke County Police Department, and Athens Orthopedic Clinic. Ornaments will be available until December 3rd.

2. Purchase the gifts! You can choose to shop in person or use an online store and have it shipped directly to us (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.)!

3. Be sure to attach the ornament! Please put the ornament and gift(s) together, and deliver wrapped or unwrapped (your preference!) gifts along with the ornament to any of the participating locations or ACCA. Please make sure all presents are turned in by 12/3 and that the ornament is securely attached to the gift. PLEASE NOTE: you can add gift wrapping and a note with the person’s code if ordering online, otherwise, staple the code to EACH of the bags or tape to each of the boxes included. If you choose to get something other than what is listed on the ornament, please be sure to make a note on the ornament of what you purchased and wrapped instead.

4. Get it to us by December 3rd.

TO SHIP, have delivered to: Leslie Trier at ACCA at 135 Hoyt Street, Athens, GA 30601

If you are planning to mail the package to ACCA, please email Leslie Trier at with a list of the items and confirmation of when to expect the package(s). If there is an option to mail it all in one package, please select that option to help keep the items together for delivery. When checking out, be sure to add the person’s code to the gift receipt. This helps us know which items belong to which clients.

Volunteer at the Wrapping Party

December 7th | shifts at 5-7 PM, 6-8 PM, & 7-9 PM

Every year we wrap over a thousand presents generously given by community members to brighten the holidays for our older adult friends and neighbors. This year we will gather at ACCA on December 7th to start making the holiday magic happen! We need all hands on deck for wrapping!

Adults and children ages 12 and up can help wrap presents and track gifts while children ages 6-11 can help clear away boxes and discarded wrapping paper. We ask volunteers to please bring tape, scissors, and a roll of your favorite wrapping paper along with your holiday cheer.

Masks will be required and we’ll be spacing out to keep everyone safe!

Share the Love

Over the past 13 years, Subaru and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels to deliver more than 2.5 million meals nationwide to seniors in need through their Subaru Share the Love Event.

Here’s how it works: this November 18, 2021, through January 3, 2022, for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of participating charities.* Meals on Wheels is one of four national participating charities and has been since the inception of the event. Through this event, as a member of Meals on Wheels America, ACCA will receive a share of the donation from Subaru vehicles sold at participating Subaru Retailers.

If you’re not shopping for a new vehicle, you can still help by spreading the word to your family and friends. Join us as we work together to spread the word!
