GeorgiaCares Helps With Medicare Open Enrollment

October is right around the corner which means…. it’s almost time for Medicare Open Enrollment.

Medicare Open Enrollment is October 15- December 7th

Medicare offers a wide range of health choices, from Original Medicare (Parts A and Parts B), Medicare Advantage plans, and the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Part D). Your health needs change from year to year and your Medicare benefits and costs may change each year too. That’s why it’s important to review your Medicare options each fall and choose the option that best fits your health needs.

You can compare your current plan to other options and see if you can lower your costs or find a better plan suited to your needs. Medicare Open Enrollment is the best time for people with Medicare to see what choices Medicare has to offer and make changes to their coverage. It’s worth it to take the time to review and compare your Medicare coverage options, but you don’t have to do it alone. GeorgiaCares is here to assist you.

GeorgiaCares is your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and we offer free, unbiased Medicare counseling to beneficiaries in our 12-county region. Our program is based out of the Athens Community Council on Aging and our certified Medicare Counselors are here to meet you in person or provide assistance over the phone.  We’re here for you during Open Enrollment to assist with plan comparisons as well as throughout the year, whenever a Medicare question or issue may arise.

Contact GeorgiaCares at 1-866-552-4464 (option 4) or 706 548 4556 to speak to a counselor or schedule an appointment.
