“We are so proud to have Sharon on our staff and she is doing an excellent job advocating on behalf of these residents. It is a great honor for her to be named to this Leadership Council and we (ACCA) couldn’t be prouder of her,” stated Jennie Deese, the CEO and President of Athens Community Council on Aging.
The Leadership Council members participate in raising the voice of long-term care consumers in national policy discussions, advancing quality in nursing homes and other long-term care settings, and expanding our expertise in home and community based services on a national level.
ACCA’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program advocates for the rights of nursing home and personal care home residents, provides educational opportunities, and investigates and resolves complaints in long-term care facilities.
