What is the Mobile Food Pantry?
On the third Wednesday of every other month, the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia delivers 10,000 pounds of food to feed more than 400 older Athenians and their families. They unload the food from the truck and from there we depend on our volunteers for help.
What do Mobile Food Pantry Volunteers do?
Volunteers help by sorting and bagging the food, as well as running bags to different areas within the ACCA campus and making deliveries to homes. Some of the boxes and bags can be heavy, so volunteers should be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
How can I help?
Check the ACCA calendar for upcoming Mobile Food Pantry dates, and if you are interested in helping out, email Christy Tweedy at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. We would love to see you there! If you would like to donate to this program, please CLICK HERE.
