ACCA Celebrates National Adult Day Services Week

It’s National Adult Day Services Week! This special week has been celebrated annually since it was proclaimed on September 27, 1983, by former President Ronald Reagan to raise awareness of the availability and accessibility of adult day programs nationwide. This year’s theme is “Voice, Vision and Value”. For the past week, we’ve been celebrating in style and counting down the decades with our clients and staff. Check out our photos below to see how we celebrated the best of times!

Designed to be an alternative to home health services, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, ACCA’s Adult Day Health center offers a daytime program of medical monitoring, therapeutic activities and assistance with personal care needs to medically frail adults and individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Both our Athens and Winder centers give those we serve the ability to remain living at home and engaged in their communities, while also having a meaningful day full of fun and friends. In addition to the direct service our members receive, the program provides essential respite for family caregivers, allowing them to continue working, tend to their personal needs, and take well-earned break.

Did you know? In FY2019, ACCA’s Adult Day Health Services served 144 individuals.

We know the true meaning of having a voice for your loved one, seeing a vision for their future and having value in knowing they are getting the best care available.
