ACCA Forms Advocacy Group

The Athens Community Council on Aging had its first advocacy group to meet this morning at the Athens Community Council on Aging campus.  The group of community members will be working directly with Jennie Deese, Chief Executive Officer of ACCA on local, state and national issues surrounding the older adult population.  The group will be working in partnership with the Georgia Council on Aging which meets regularly for trainings concerning aging issues, planning and evaluating advocacy strategies and outcomes, discussing issues which affect the aging community as a whole, and selecting legislative and budget priority issues which CO-AGE will support.
