On Thursday, October 11, 2012, the Athens Senior Resources Network presented the Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) a donation of $2,000 at the organization’s annual Health Fair.  The donation will be used to provide four scholarships to the Athens Area Village and to support the ACCA’s Squash Senior Hunger program by providing funding for 3 Mobile Food Pantries.  “We are so grateful for all of the services the Athens Senior Resources Network provides for the Northeast Georgia area.  This group is doing great things in our community for our older adult population and we are so grateful for the impact this donation will have at ACCA” stated Jennie Deese, CEO/President of Athens Community Council on Aging.  The mobile food pantries will help reduce senior food insecurity in our community by making an additional 30,000 pounds of food available to local seniors.  The Athens Area Village is a program that assists older adults in aging in place through an annual membership program and the Athens Senior Resources Network’s donation will provide scholarships for 4 individuals for the program.

Thank you ASRN for all you do for our community and for this generous donation to ACCA!
